about

hey, i did it again

album three! i'm happy as shit with this one. some of the tracks were around half finished already before new year's, but for the most part this has been a non-stop project for six months. yeah, yeah, it still sucks. whatever. aesop rock has that line in 9-5ers anthem, "we the american working population hate the 9-5 day in day out when we'd rather be supporting ourselves by being paid to perfect the pasttimes that we have harbored based solely on the fact that it makes us smile if it sounds dope", and that's basically me here now, except don't fucking pay me for any tracks that would get me sued, please and thanks.

there is no single solid overarching conceptual storyline to this one, more a succession of vibes and feelings that *do* subtly (or not) reference each other. there *are* narratives that can be sussed out of this, i've come up with a few, but i mostly leave that up to your interpretation. i had intended to finish Otherplaces II: Sonata this year, but the songs i kept coming up with didn't fit that, so instead i shelved 6-7 tracks, brought a couple of them over to this album, and ran with it.

this is intended to be listened to loud enough to *feel* the bass, whether through your skull in headphones or deep in the chest in the car - ideally set *just* below the point at which the kicks in the first track are threatening the integrity of your speakers.

there is more on the way; likely by the end of the year i will at least release another single with some outtakes and early versions on it. maybe more.
